ATTENTION: Application period begins noon November 2nd and close 5pm on November 10. More information can be found on the FAQs page.

Mecklenburg County and the City of Charlotte have both contributed $1MM in CARES Act funding along with $1MM in private resources from the THRIVE Fund to invest a total of $3MM in individual artists/creatives and arts, science and history organizations across the county experiencing COVID-related challenges.

Funding Cultural Organizations & Individual Creatives

The funds established by the three entities above will support the following Charlotte-Mecklenburg constituencies:

  • Individual artists and creative entrepreneurs - e.g., visual artists, dancers, musicians, graphic designers, and creative gig/contract workers

  • Small and mid-sized non-profits with a primary mission of arts/science/history/creativity and budgets less than $1MM

  • Larger non-profits with a primary mission of arts/science/history/creativity and budgets more than $1MM

Funding from all three sources will be awarded to Foundation for the Carolinas, who will administer the grants for the largest organizations in partnership with THRIVE Fund leadership.

Grants for small and mid-size non-profits and creative individuals will be administered through a partnership of Arts & Science Council, Charlotte Is Creative and Hue House.
